Fitness Friday ♥ Fat vs. Muscle

   Hey there gym babes!  When I first started working out, I found this picture quite motivational!  Until I saw this, I thought to myself "why can't I lose weight?!"  I was frustrated and about to give up!  That is, until I saw how much SMALLER muscle as opposed to fat.  Just because you don't lose weight does not mean you aren't making progress!  I have learned to pay more attention to measurements and how I look in the mirror, instead of the scale!  Working out may not give you exactly the results in the way you expect, but they will give results!

Hair-Do Thursday ♥ Little Hot Mess

   Hey country girls!  This summer we are embracing our messy hair!  Woo!  Bring on the camo hats and sun-bleached waves!  To get this totally summer-ized look, start by putting your hair up in a high ponytail.

   Next, curl 1 inch sections around a curling wand or the open barrel of a curling iron of your choice.  When all the hair is curled, take the ponytail down and curl a bit here and there to tame the unruly bits.

   Spray with your fave hairspray and rock that sexy mess!  I know I certainly plan to!

Wisdom Wednesday ♥ Be Real.

   Hello sweeties!  Sorry for not getting on for the ACTUAL Wisdom Wednesday!  Important life stuff! *gasp*  

   This is for all of you who are too critical on yourselves.  Real is beautiful!  No one is perfect, no one is born perfect, no one can ever truly achieve "perfection".  This does not mean stop trying to improve, but instead become the best YOU you can possibly be!  Because being yourself is AWESOME!  

   As the wise zombie from Wreck-It Ralph once said "labels not make you happy. Good, bad, nggghhhh... you must love you."

Trend Tuesday ♥ Denim Vest

   Hey there cupcakes!  One staple I have seen trending lately is the very simple *drum roll please* DENIM VEST!  This piece of clothing is understated and can add a ton of interest to a fairly simple outfit.  The fact that it is sooo totally versatile is definitely an added bonus!
   I love this first look, it's totally something I would wear.  The bright skinnies, with a neutral colored tee, with the denim vest looks put together without being fussy.  In fact, it's the sort of thing you could practically roll out of bed and throw on, and still look great!  Plus those cute peachy jeans look laid back and summery!
   This second look is a lot more dressed up.  The denim vest makes the loudly patterned dress look more lived-in.  It practically oozes confidence!  The studs on the collar tie in the metallic bangles nicely.  I would wear this look on a date on a warm (not breezy) day!
   So, I have decided that I simply must get myself a cute denim vest for this summer!  What about you?  Maybe you could even cut up an old denim jacket to make your own self-tailored jacket!

Makeup Monday ♥ Girly Pink Pout

   Hey beauties!  This look is so great for summer!  So very natural and dewy. I'm lovin' the lips, cheeks and eyes!

   This all looks so very natural, but with a second glance you can tell she has some makeup on.  And that's good!  Because some people are very self-conscious about not wearing makeup (whether they should be is another question!).

   The eye is very pretty.  A bronze, nearly nude shade of eye shadow really compliments blue eyes, but doesn't overwhelm the rest of the face.  Groomed brows and unlined lids really top the "au naturale" look off.

   The cheek bones are defined lightly with a rosy pink blush that nearly matches her lips, and a bit of bronzer beneath the cheek bones adds extra definition.  A shimmery highlighter brings your attention to seemingly flawless skin.

   Lastly comes the pretty pink lips.  The pink is light enough to not be distracting, but bright enough to draw attention to them.  The added color makes the natural makeup look appear more put together, for maybe a sunny poolside day or even a more relaxed night staring at stars with your honey (though you might want the pink to be a stain for that sort of thing).  

   I, personally, cannot wait to try this look!  I hope you guys love it as much as I do!

Smitten Saturday ♥ Love Someone.

   Hey there love bugs!  Love is a gift given to us that other species do not have.  No other species can love and express that love quite the way we do.  Our love goes hand in hand with suffering, crying and fighting, yes.  Perhaps this is why so many people no longer bother with love.  But it is worth it.  

   Many stop feeling and close off from the world when hurt by love.  They may build a wall, so tall that no stone cast by any cynic could ever hurt them.  But inside that wall, you are alone.  Hiding within the solitude of your white, padded walls until you are unable to take the silence, the quiet.  The fact that you are ALONE.  It may take time, months, years even.  However, no matter how long it takes, the disassembling of that wall may end up being the best choice you ever commit to.

Fitness Friday ♥ No Giving Up

 

   Howdy lil' misses!  This quote is pretty inspirational!  It's time to shake off those yucky winter blues and get going, right?  "In 2013 we will give up giving up".  Sounds like a fabulous resolution to me!  

   I have given up so many times in my life, and I have come to realize that it really doesn't get me anywhere.  This year, we're gonna get our butts in gear and do something AWESOME!

Hair-Do Thursday ♥ Curls and Braids

   Hey there cupcakes!  Isn't this hair just gorgeous?  Curls are definitely one of my personal favorite styles of hair, and combined with a cute braid?  Ah, perfection!  And as cute as this is, it takes hardly ANY work!

   All you have to do is curl your hair normally.  Of course it doesn't have to be EXACTLY like the picture.  You can curl however tightly you want, but don't forget the heat protectant!  Just curl all your hair, then take a piece from whichever side of your head you prefer.

  I recommend a section of about 3 or 4 inches, but it could be bigger or smaller depending on the thickness of your hair.  Braid it behind your head to whichever direction you wish it to go, then secure it with a couple bobby pins and a spritz or two of hairspray!  VOILA!  Gorgeous hair!   

   I would wear this look on a summery Friday night party!  Nothing is flirtier than curls!  Wink, wink!

Wisdom Wednesday ♥ Dance!

   Heya dancing queens!  In current culture, we don't see much good dancing.  I mean, GOOD dancing.  High school dances?  Not actually dances.  Groups of teenagers either grind, or stand awkwardly sipping tiny plastic cups of water.  As this quote states, "there ought to be more dancing"!  Don't you agree?
  As well as being an excellent pastime, dancing is healthy!  Dancing rigorously can be your workout for the night!  Shake off those extra pounds! Woot!
  So... in conclusion!  GO DANCE!  Healthy, fun, whoo!

Trend Tuesday ♥ The Flowy Tank Top

    Hey cuties!  Today we are looking at the loose flowy tank top!  This look is coming especially on trend for this summer!  You can expect to see them paired with cute cut-off shorts, that favorite pair of skinnies, or maybe a attention-getting mini-skirt.
   One definite attraction factor has gotta be the versatility.  Dress it up, dress it down!  Sandals, flats, heels, you name it!  On those hot summer days, who wants sticky, sweaty fabric clinging to your skin?  Nobody!  Here's where this tank comes in!  It's airy and light, so the fabric doesn't cause you to sweat more than necessary!  And paired with those cute denim shorts, you just can't go wrong!
   When night rolls around, it gets a little bit cooler, and the mosquitoes come out in full swing!  No need to leave your legs open to aerial attack from insects, slip on those worn-out skinnies and look just as cute!  Perfect for those late night bonfires and impromptu nocturnal adventures!
   Finally, it's time for a night out on the town!  While you're chilling at the mall with your girlfriends, you don't want to be too formal, but you still want to capture the attention of those passing by.  Whether it's to snag that cutie you spotted across the food court, or just to show off and get some "ooh"s and "aah"s from your buddies, this look is definitely a show-stopper!
  So when summer weather finally arrives here in Nebraska, you can bet you will see me sporting these cute styles!  With casual days, adorable nights, or memorable weekends, this flowy tank top is the way to go!
